Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Notetime ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our web application at https://www.notetimeapp.com, our iOS and Mac apps available on the Apple App Store, or our Android app available on Google Play.

By using Notetime, you agree to the practices described below. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at hi@notetimeapp.com.

1. What We Collect

✅ Local Note Data

  • Your notes are stored locally on your device by default — in your browser's local storage (web) or on-device storage (iOS, Mac and Android).
  • We do not have access to your notes unless you sign in and subscribe to Pro for cloud sync.

✅ Optional Account Data

  • If you sign in (via Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In or email) and subscribe to Pro, we collect:
    • Email address (for account creation and login)
    • Name (if provided via Apple Sign-In)
    • Timestamped notes, entries, and tags (to sync your data across devices)
    • Images you attach to notes (to sync them across devices)
  • Authentication and data storage are handled via Supabase.

✅ Usage Analytics

  • We use Mixpanel (web and iOS) and PostHog (iOS, Mac and Android) to collect usage analytics to understand how people use Notetime and improve the app.
  • This includes anonymous usage events (e.g., note created, feature interactions), device type, platform, and app version.
  • If you sign in, your anonymous user ID (not your email) is linked to your analytics profile.
  • Analytics data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. The Android app does not use the Android advertising ID.

✅ Crash Reports

  • The Android app sends crash reports to Sentry so we can fix bugs. A report contains the error type, stack trace, device model, OS and app version. It does not include your notes, your email or screenshots.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the app
  • Enable cloud sync and backup for Pro subscribers
  • Process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions
  • Improve the user experience through usage analytics
  • Monitor and debug performance or errors

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to run Notetime:

  • Supabase – Authentication and database hosting for sync and backup
  • Mixpanel – Usage analytics (web and iOS)
  • PostHog – Usage analytics (iOS, Mac and Android)
  • RevenueCat – Subscription and in-app purchase management (iOS, Mac and Android)
  • Google Play Billing – Payment processing for purchases in the Android app
  • Sentry – Crash reporting (Android)
  • Apple Sign-In – Authentication (iOS, Mac and Android)
  • Google Sign-In – Authentication (web, iOS and Android)
  • Highlight.io – Error monitoring and session replay (web only)

Each of these services may collect technical information as part of their operations. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

4. Data Retention

  • Local notes are stored on your device — in your browser (web) or app storage (iOS). They are deleted when you clear your browser storage or uninstall the app.
  • Synced notes (Pro subscribers) are stored on our servers and will be retained until you delete your account or data.
  • Analytics data is used to improve the app over time and is not sold to third parties.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Use Notetime anonymously (no account required for core features)
  • Delete your account and associated backup data at any time
  • Reach out to us with questions about how your data is handled

Deleting your account

You can delete your Notetime account and all of its cloud data at any time:

  • In the app (iOS, Mac or Android): open Settings, then Sync & Backup, then Delete Account, and confirm.
  • By email: write to hi@notetimeapp.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm within 30 days.

Deleting your account permanently removes your account, your synced notes, entries, tags and attached images from our servers, and your purchase record at RevenueCat. Notes stored only on your device stay there until you delete them or uninstall the app. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription: cancel it in Google Play or the App Store.

6. Children's Privacy

Notetime is not specifically targeted toward children, but we do not knowingly collect any personal data from users under the age of 13. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date.
